Takeshi Murkami’s Summer Solstice Doodle.
Categories: Art, Dezign, Graphix

Today’s Google Doodle was created by the famous Murakami, lending his creative magic with cartoon-inspired drawings to the popular internet search engine, to celebrate the Summer Solstice, as today is the longest day of the year. It incorporates ‘Superflat art’ an art movement started by the artist in Japan, probably way back in 2001!

And his Winter Solstice Superflat art.

So, who is Takeshi Murakami? He is a Japanese artist, who also designed the album cover for Kany West’s Graduation album, and created the much loved smiling cherries handbags for Louis Vuitton. He is internationally recognized and loved for his quirky and playful cartoon illustrations. I for one love them because they remind me of anime, yet it still involves so much creativity and genius design.
